NOOX

NOOX — North of Oxford St. — is an independent label, studio, and creative platform founded in London in 2015 by Doug Thomas. Originally based in Fitzrovia, the label later moved through Pimlico and is now based in Battersea.

Since its inception, NOOX has released more than one hundred singles, EPs, albums, and compilations spanning composed, improvised, acoustic, electronic, and experimental music. The catalogue includes projects by artists such as Marie Awadis, Marta Cascales Alimbau, Dominique Charpentier, Davide Fasiello, Andy Findon, Edoardo Gastaldi, Pablo J. Garmon, Hemsing, Mathieu Karsenti, Luca Longobardi, Suvobrata Dutta, Roberto Ventimiglia, Violeta Vicci, Tim Blazdell, Feryanto, Telin, Ultima Canticum, bird in north river, and Doug Thomas, among many others.

Among its notable releases are Haruki, dedicated to Haruki Murakami, Dodomu, a fundraising compilation supporting Ukraine, Cristofori for Piano Day 2023, and the tenth anniversary compilation X.

NOOX aims to cultivate an art that is both contemplative and stimulating — balancing the aesthetics of the Old World and the New World through an independent, exploratory, and deeply personal approach. Rooted in the philosophy of “less is more,” the label moves fluidly between minimalism and maximalism, structure and improvisation, tradition and experimentation.

Beyond a label, NOOX is also a collective and community bringing together artists from different disciplines, backgrounds, and musical languages through a shared pursuit of beauty, atmosphere, and emotional depth.
