We know it all did not start with the piano, yet we keep coming back to it. We also know that not everything is connected to it, yet the name “Johann" fuels the world of Western music like no other.

Amongst Davide Fasiello's frank neoclassical brilliance and Roberto Ventimiglia's postmodern digestion of tradition, lie both Edoardo Gastaldi's intense balance between openness and the unsaid, and Doug Thomas' futuristic clockwork counterpoint. 

Whilst this NOOX collective effort pays homage to a musical instrument that is more or less our society's paradigm of human expression through sound since the 19th Century, we mustn't forget who basically set the rules for keyboard musical writing, changing the whole game forever.

So, Happy Piano Day, but also happy "Johann".
