FLUXUS

London, 2025

Fluxus is a project that took its own shape, almost on its own. Originally, it was devised by Doug Thomas as a set of instructions, inspired by the Fluxus movement and specifically the works of Yoko Ono, as well as traditional Japanese flute music. The project, then presented to Andy Findon started to take an interesting turn when Andy’s musical DNA started showing up the creative process. With written instructions and almost empty music bars as the main foundations of the works, Andy directed the music into a reflection of both artists personalities, with Doug’s ideas slowing morphing Andy’s ideas as the work progresses and the instruments change.
For the listener, it is interesting to approach Fluxus both aware of the intentions and instructions of the artists, and oblivious to them, allowing the music to speak on its own. Each instruction is being shared during the promotional campaign of Fluxus, on NOOX’s media platforms.

The opening piece, “Untitled #92”, was featured in NOOX’s tenth anniversary compilation, X.
