“Bach/Siloti” is a piece composed for Piano Day 2023. Its conceptual process follows the one of the mille-feuille; Bach’s “BWV 855”, composed in 1722, which has been rearranged two hundred years later by Siloti, and which I have used as the basis of the piece. It is both their ideas and pieces which I have compressed into a simplistic modern arrangement. Over this, I have let my musical mind wander and have improvised an elongated melody.
