“In the Air” is Doug Thomas’ contribution to Piano Day 2026, marking his sixth participation since 2021. Written after an unusual six-week pause from composing while focusing on running NOOX, the piece reflects the idea that music is always present — waiting to be captured — in the air. Composed in less than a day, the work embodies spontaneity and quiet inspiration. "(After) In the Air" is Tim Blazdell's rework of the piece, following the principles and ideas set in Blazdell X Thomas — the first creative meeting between both musicians.
